Choose Dawson Creek

Since 2005, the City of Dawson Creek has been a leading sustainable community and their efforts have not gone unrecognized. For the second year running, Dawson Creek has been recognized as one of British Columbia's most innovative green cities by the Union of BC Municipalities, and in 2008, they were awarded a Green City Award. The City continues to look for ways to promote healthy living and opportunities for everyone. Visit the City of Dawson Creek for additional information.

Dawson Creek is the only city in the world to be recognized as Mile '0' of the Alaska Highway. If you're planning a trip up north, be sure to include Dawson Creek on your list of stopping places. You can take your picture on the Mile '0' Post, visit the Art Gallery that is housed in a converted grain elevator, step into the original 1930 train station that saw the arrival of 10,000 US troops here to build the Alaska Highway, and so much more! For more information on planning your trip to Dawson Creek, please visit Tourism Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek is also proud to be home to the EnCana Events Centre. With 6,500 seats, the EnCana Events Centre is the region's newest and largest entertainment facility. With a number of concerts and events lined up, Dawson Creek has truly become the Event Centre of the Peace! Visit the EnCana Events Centre for more information.

With a vibrant economy and small town values, Dawson Creek has something for everyone!
